Christmas with The Philadelphia Singers

A 40th Anniversary Season would not be complete without The Philadelphia Singers’ holiday concert, Christmas with The Philadelphia Singers, as it has been a cherished tradition for thousands of families and friends throughout the Delaware Valley. Exuberance and cheer will warm the hearts of hundreds this holiday season as The Philadelphia Singers performs three concerts on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 7:30pm at the Church of the Good Samaritan at 212 W. Lancaster Avenue in Paoli and Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 3pm and 6pm at St. Clement’s Church, 20th and Cherry Streets, Philadelphia. Music Director David Hayes will lead The Philadelphia Singers in a stunning concert.

This beloved holiday tradition is unmatched by anything else in the Philadelphia area. The Philadelphia Singers perform gorgeous seasonal music joined by an entrancing candlelight procession. Of the concert, Hayes says, “This year’s program has an English flair to it with significant works such as Gerald Finzi’s In terra pax and James MacMillan’s stunning choral anthem Magnificat,” along with many more seasonal favorites. Audience members then will enjoy the total surround sound experience of an audience carol-sing with professional singers.

Peter Conte, Grand Court Organist of the Wanamaker Organ will join The Philadelphia Singers for the Paoli and 6pm Philadelphia performances. Michael Stairs, Organist of The Philadelphia Orchestra will be featured in the 3pm Philadelphia performance.

For 40 years, audiences have been delighted by the Christmas with The Philadelphia Singers concert series, each one built around a singular theme.
